Software Developer (Working Student)

acemate is building an AI learning & teaching platform for higher and further education institutions. We have strong traction, secured funding and are entering an exciting growth phase. We're looking for a passionate Full-Stack Developer (Working Student) to drive our product forward and help us scale.

Tasks

What You'll Do

Your daily responsibilities will be customized to align with your individual talents and professional ambitions, covering both product engineering and foundational infrastructure. Serving as a crucial early hire, you will wield major impact on our macro strategy, system architecture, and product roadmap.

Product Development:

• Design innovative features and enhance existing system functionality through tight collaboration with Paul and Emile
• Actively gather user input and convert these learnings into tangible platform upgrades

Technical Leadership:

• Guarantee the architecture stays robust and highly scalable to effectively support our ongoing expansion
• Consistently iterate on and modernize our AI toolchains to capitalize on the newest breakthroughs in artificial intelligence
• Operate with cutting-edge technologies, focusing primarily on backend infrastructure hosted across Cloudflare and Google Cloud

Past examples of what you could be building:

• Duolingo-inspired daily quiz system engineered to boost student engagement with their academic curriculum
• Complex AI pipelines built to pull visual and textual information from varied document formats, mapping these components into extensive knowledge graphs
• Custom authorization engine designed to manage the expanding complexities tied to diverse institutional configurations

Tech Stack:

• Frontend: TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS
• Database: Supabase (PostgreSQL)
• Infrastructure: Cloudflare (Workers, Pages, Workflows, R2, KV), Google Cloud (Gemini, Cloud Run)
• Tools: Sentry, Langfuse, PostHog, Stripe

Do not be concerned if you lack prior experience with every piece of technology right out of the gate. We have full confidence in your capacity to rapidly upskill and seamlessly adapt to employing new frameworks and tools as our company scales.
